A Small Life Update

Pop of Color

Hola Chicas!

With Ramadan coming to an end, I have been busy celebrating Eid with my family and friends. My family and I spent the first day of Eid on a cruise ship enjoying a fancy dinner. The music was great and the staff was super nice, it was a day to remember alhamdulillah ❤

I got a request asking me to post a hijab friendly look that is comfortable yet fashionable when traveling on a plane so here it is 🙂  I am wearing black boot cut jeans with an oversize white and black blouse. I finished the look with purple sandals, a purple handbag that is large enough to put all my things and a purple jersey hijab. Jersey is the perfect fabric to wear when traveling, working out or spending long hours wearing the hijab because it stays in place so you never have to worry about how you look.

I just had to share a picture of the dinner while we were on the cruise ship 🙂

Red, White and Blue

Hi there girls!

I am so sad that my internship has ended. I had a wonderful supervisor that trained me, answered all my never ending questions and gave me the opportunity to take on cases. I learned so much so to show my appreciation to the staff, I decided to bring them chocolate cupcakes with a small thank you card. Hopefully they love it.

Bootcut jeans are back and they are a major trend this season! I love this style of jeans because it isn’t tight making it more modest. I decided to pair my bootcut jeans with a white blouse and a long red cardigan for extra coverage. I matched it with a floral print hijab and white sandals. I finished the look with a belt and a large gold bracelet. This outfit is super chic, fashionable yet modest. Hope you like this look!

I had to share a photo of the cupcakes 😀

Floral, Denim and Pink

Hey lovelies!

My brother is officially a doctor y’all! He graduated from the college of medicine a few days ago and I couldn’t be prouder. I pray that this will be the first step for a good life and successful career.

My current focus is showing hijabis modest outfits that are perfect for the summer. Today’s outfit is great for any casual occasion or for just a walk in the park. I am wearing a watermelon pink skirt with a t-shirt and a denim blouse. I finished the look with a floral hijab and accessories. Did I mention how much I love this shade of pink ❤

White, Orange and Gold

Hello there girls!

I started my training in a pharmacy and it has been a wonderful experience thus far! I have learned so much about different types of medication and on dealing with patients. I’m taking the evening shift this week so I’m getting back home very late, but it is definitely worth it.

This blog post is another summer inspired outfit. My main focus is showing hijabis how to wear outfits that are very light, fashionable but still be modest for the summer. So today I am wearing wide orange patterned pants with a white blouse that’s short from the front and long from the back providing a little extra coverage. I finished it off with gold accessories and a gold watch.

Fringe Kimono

Hey my loves!

I know it has been forever since I last blogged, but I was super busy with finals. I am finally back and I have so many ideas that I cannot wait to share with all of you 😀

Now that is summer, I absolutely love to wear bright colors, prints, dresses and anything flowy. So for today’s blogpost, I am wearing a fringe kimono with an off-white shirt and wide leg beige trousers making this outfit airy and light, perfect for summer days. As I mentioned in my previous post, kimonos are wonderful because they provide the coverage needed while still being fashionable. Another major benefit is that kimonos are made of very light fabric which is especially great for hijabis in hot weather.

Skin Care

Hey Girlies!

I’m so excited to be back to blogging! You have no idea how much I have missed it

Anyways, it’s another Tips for Hijabis y’all! With summer slowly approaching, it is imperative that we take care of our skin. As a hijabi, the face is the most exposed to the sun therefore we should take extra care of it. So here are some tips that I personally use and would love to share with you.

  1. Water is your new best friend:  It is very important to drink water at a regular basis throughout the day because water will hydrate your skin and flush out the toxins giving you a clear complexion. Dehydration increases the likelihood of spots and breakouts.
  2. Exfoliate: Exfoliating your skin once a week is important because it removes dead, dulling skin debris preventing congestion. It also helps rejuvenate the skin, leaving it smoother and brighter.
  3. Apply sunscreen religiously: Always apply sunscreen 15 minutes before going out to allow time for the product to be absorb into the skin. Don’t forget to re-apply every 2 to 3 hours or after swimming. It is vital to look for sunscreens that offer protection for both UVA and UVB rays and have a high SPF. I generally use SPF 30.
  4. Cleanser: Using a cleanser every morning or before going to bed is important because facial cleansers remove dead skin cells, dirt, dust, make-up and bacteria. It also permits your pores to breathe easily as well as increase circulation. I personally use Cetaphel Cleanser.
  5. Moisturize. Moisturize: I can’t stress enough on the importance of moisturizing. It keeps your skin hydrated, soft and smooth. I personally use Cetaphel Moisturizer and I absolutely love it! It great for those with sensitive skin.

Missed you guys! xoxo
